Event 25 - Summer 1998 - Hampshire - Woodvale Golf Society

3rd Summer Trip held on 10th/11th July 1998

For our third Summer trip we travelled to Hampshire and stayed in an excellent b&b in Gosport. After a curry we played pool and made good use of the honesty bar.

Eclectic at Meon Valley

On his first outing out with the Society, Paul Walker won the two-round eclectic at the superb Meon Valley. He thrashed all opponents and led by eight points with his 37 pts. His afternoon 31 gave him an overall score of 46. Paul Hanby was the only player who could respond and his afternoon 35 was enough to give him the runner-up spot on 43.5.

Medal at Cams Hall

In what turned out to be dreadful conditions, Al Nawocki won the Medal event with a superb round of one over. The weather was fine at the start though pretty windy. At the turn it was pouring. He managed no worse than a double bogey and managed seven pars and seven bogeys for a great round. Robin Dyson was runner-up by just one shot.
