Event 2 - Spring 1988 - Lullingstone

2nd Golf Day held on 16th May 1988


The second Woodvale Golf Day was held at Lullingstone in Kent, at the end of the 1987/88 football season. The event was extended to ex-players and guests too. The weather was cold and grey. Striker Robin Dyson had a double win in his first event. He was one of only two players to play under handicap scoring 38 to win the morning Stableford and also had the lowest gross score of 90 as well. Kevin Fitzgerald (left back) was one point behind with club captain and centre-half Paul Simmonds third on 35. Mark Staples was the leading guest on 33 equal fourth with defender Al Nawrocki. The afternoon format was Texas Scramble, a new format for the Society. All teams were off scratch and there was one four-ball team in the field. Robin Dyson was partnered with Richard Frampton and Richard Nawrocki to score a one over par 73 and victory by one shot. Neil Moir won the Nearest-the-Pin with a shot to 15' 1" having also won last time out.
