Summer Trophies
In 1996 the Society started their Summer event which comprised 2 night away in July with 3 rounds of golf. The first playing day saw a 36 hole Stableford with an 18 hole medal being played on the 2nd day. Numbers peaked at 16 for the trip to the Belfry on the society's 10 year and there was also a good number for the trip to France in 2018. The most popular venue was Isle of Purbeck where we played 3 times. Seaford Head was another very popular course. The 14th was held in 2009 with just 5 players. It was decided not to run the event if we couldn't get enough players for two fourballs.
The event was relaunched in 2023 with the ideal number of 8 players playing for a new trophy, but playing 2 rounds over 2 days. Chris Holland is our second winner, beating the previous best score from 2002 by 1 point.
