Event 55 - Spring 2006 - Slinfold Park

38th Golf Day held on 19th May 2006

Peter Miles set the record for the longest time between wins as he won his second Stableford Trophy, having previously won in May 1991. His very consistent round saw him score five 3-pointers, eight 2-pointers and five 1-pointers for 36 points. John Fish agonisingly lost it on the countback having scored a blistering 21 on the outward nine but with 15 coming back. Third place was Derek Morris who had not played in an event since May 97. He scored 32 in what was quite a low scoring event. Colin Fish's 29 was enough for him to win and retain the Winners Salver (the highest of last years singles events winners). Guests scooped the spot prizes. Reg Salkilld won the longest-drive on the 12th and Steve Martin the Nearest-the-Pin at the 7th. In the afternoon foursomes, Peter Miles continued his winning ways and paired with Paul Jeanes triumphed on 31 to win by a point from three other pairings.
