Event 60 - Summer 2007 - France

12th Summer Trip held on 6th/7th/8th July 2007 

For our 20th anniversary year, we made the trip to Pas-De-Calais, France for an excellent 3 days, golf, food, company & weather. We stayed in the Westminster hotel in Le Touquet providing b&b. The town provided a wide choice for eating out, though it was busy.  

36-hole Stableford at Le Touquet

Peter Miles won our 36 holes stableford played over the Friday and Sunday. In some of the most windy conditions we've experienced he led with just 26 points on the La Mer course. Steve Watson was next best on 24. Conditions on the La Foret course were much better, Pammi Channa had the best score of the day on 36, but Peter's 33, one of four to do so gave him victory by 4 shots. Richard Walsh was second, one ahead of Mark Staples

Medal at La Belle Dune

Pammi Channa won his first singles event with the Society with an excellent round of golf to finish 2 under his handicap. This included just 2 dropped shots in the last 8 holes. Runner up was Ian Pearce on +1 his best ever placing. Richard Walsh pipped John Fish on the countback for third to be the most consistent player of the trip.
