Event 69 - Autumn 2009 - Old Thorns

45th Golf Day held on 25th Sept 2009

Society regular John Cooper won his first ever Stableford Trophy at Old Thorns, in a record equalling score of 33. He could even afford three blobs as variable greens made scoring difficult for everyone. Pammi Channa lost out on the countback with Mike Lunnon securing third place after a three way tie on 29. Richard Walsh won the Longest drive, the only player to finish on the fairway. John Fish was Nearest the Pin at the xxth hole. There was some really good golf in the afternoon Foursomes. Paul Jeanes & Richard Walsh must have thought they had won it on 39 only be to be pipped by John Fish & Barry Hough on 40.
