11th Winter Event held on 20th Feb 2010
With an overnight frost it looked like it would be a frozen 18 holes. Thankfully we were back on proper greens by the 2nd and enjoyed sunshine for most of the round. Colin Fish back from a knee operation 3 months previous, won his first Winter Stableford with a superb score of 38 points. Like many he scored most of his points on the front nine with 23 going out, including a birdie 4. Nearest challenger was Steve Watson on 36, who has 3 wins of this comp under his belt. Last year's winner put up a great fight too, Ian Pearce was third on 35. There were three on 34, including top guest Steve Harris. In the bowmaker, Colin teamed up with brother Mick and Mark Savage to win on 81. Three spot prizes were up for grabs, Barry winning the Nearest-the-pin on the 7th, Keith the Longest-Drive on the 13th and Pammi Nearest-the-pin at the last.
