Event 86 - Spring 2015 - Bramley
56th Golf Day held on 8th May 2015
Our troop travelled to Bramley just south of Guildford for our Spring event. It was nice to see Steve Harris back with us, he hasn’t played with us for three years. Also guest Lee Gillam who last played with us as far back as Slinfold in 2006. We continue to run the 4-club challenge for the Max Cup donated by Mike Lunnon. Players continue to do well in the event with both Colin and Yasin scoring 16. The winner was Barry with a fine 18 points who got of to a flying start with three straight pars. Our afternoon 18 holes saw a tight affair for all positions except the winner. There were players on every score from 25 to 30, with Peter Chance edging out Peter Miles on the countback for the runner-up spot. Runaway winner and his first time for the Stableford Trophy was Shailen with a fine 34 points. His only blob was on the 16th doing better than all others and so he scooped the blobs pot as well. Barry clearly found a whole bag of clubs a little more difficult than just four as he propped up the filed with only 19. It was Mark who failed to score on 7 holes and won the members booby prize of the Blobs trophy. His consolation though was to win the big boys longest drive at the 7th. The 4ball voucher that the club put up for the nearest-the pin was won by Richard.
