A record low for the Winter event but thankfully some good friends at Purley bolstered the number up to seven. A toe operation put Richard Walsh out of action but he came to the lunch as did Lee Gillam. The course was in great condition and the weather kinder to us than it had been for some winter events. Alan Fielding was the pick from the three ball, his 31 just edging out David England on 30. The fourball include Steve Watson defending this event. He shot 19 points going out but the second nine was a little shaky but finished on 33. Keith Pitts got so very close and finished on 32.So in 18 years, Steve yet again for the 9th time, won the winter stableford with Guy Hamilton winning the nearest the pin.
