Event 95 - Sept 2018 - Redlibbets

63rd Golf Day held on 9th Sept 2018

Into our 32nd year, and our equal lowest turnout of just 8 for our 63rd golf day. Redlibbets dates back to 1998 and is a parkland course spread over 150 acres. The course is pretty tree lined, has a number of blind tee shots, a particularly narrow par 4  14th and the par 4 18th partly protected by a small lake. We were blessed with good weather.

In our opening 4 ball both Richard and John were going pretty steadily both with 16 at the turn. Neither could improve on the second nine but Richard’s 32 would see him finish as runner up. In our second group it was Matt and Paul who were excelling. Both players made a birdie on half way scores of 20 and 19. Matt ran away with it and finished on 39, just 5 over par. Congrats he has now won it 5 times. Paul scored 32 to take 3rd on the countback. At the 9th hole, Richard was the only one to make the fairway at the slight dogleg right and so won the longest drive trophy. Later on at the downhill 17th Pammi got to within 5 feet to win the nearest the Pin.
